CILEGON (MPN News) – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Banten reaffirmed its strategic role in realizing a safe and orderly maritime work ecosystem through full support for the "Public Audience Monitoring and Evaluation of Sailing Safety" activity.
The event, initiated by the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Royale Krakatau Convention Hall, Cilegon.
Pelindo Regional 2 Banten's participation in this activity demonstrates the corporation's commitment to continuously improving occupational safety standards in maritime areas, particularly in Banten waters. This step aligns with the government's efforts to raise collective awareness among maritime communities about the importance of safety and security in shipping.
General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Benny Ariadi, stated that the company's support for the shipping safety campaign is an integral part of the company's vision to realize an occupational safety and health (K3) culture.
"Safety is a top priority that cannot be compromised. We at Pelindo Regional 2 Banten are fully committed to supporting regulators in creating a safe maritime work environment (zero accidents). Collaborating on this event is a form of our synergy to ensure that a safety culture is firmly embedded, not only among port employees, but also among all stakeholders and the coastal communities around us," said Benny Ariadi.
This activity aims to increase the understanding and awareness of maritime safety regulations and procedures. In addition to public education sessions and discussions, the event also included concrete measures, including the distribution of 150 life jackets, 50 lifebuoys, and legal documents such as the Small Pass and Red Seaman's Book to fishermen.
As a token of appreciation for its active participation and ongoing support in the maritime safety campaign, Pelindo Regional 2 Banten also received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Director General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation. This award further motivates Pelindo's management to continue its commitment and involvement in maritime safety governance.
This event was also attended by the leadership of the Directorate of Maritime and Shipping Surveillance (KPLP), regional government agencies in Banten, as well as various associations and stakeholders in the Banten maritime sector.
