PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Or PTP Non-Petikemas Promotes CSV Through EduPort and Daily Worker Certification at Kijing Terminal

MENPAWAH INDONESIA (MPN News)  - Kijing Terminal, Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan, managed by PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) Pontianak Branch, has become the center for implementing a Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program based on Creating Shared Value (CSV). This program strengthens port operations while empowering the community through education, student innovation, and daily worker certification.

The event, held on Monday, November 24, 2025, was attended by Pelindo Group management, local government officials, port authorities, and universities. The presence of these stakeholders emphasized the importance of synergy between the business world, education, and the community in building a learning and empowerment ecosystem at Kijing Terminal.

The EduPort program involved 15 students from Tanjungpura University and Muhammadiyah University of Pontianak who participated in a one-month structured internship, field learning, and the development of innovative ideas based on port operational needs. Through a series of presentations and judging, five innovations were selected in the categories of Best Out of the Box Idea, Best Work Safety, Best Environmental Health, Best Engineering Structure, and Best Operations Solution. Two of these—the Oil Absorbing Pad and the Rubber Mat Puzzle—are targeted for implementation by the end of 2025.

Director of Finance, Human Resources, and Risk Management of PTP Non-container, Bambang Sakti, emphasized, "This innovation doesn't stop here. Two programs are targeted to run in 2025 and three others in 2026. We are proud that this social investment builds relationships, is useful for business, and also inspires the daily workforce. This CSV TJSL activity also invites collaboration between the community and students, so the impact is not only for the company, but also for strengthening human resources and the logistics ecosystem around Kijing Terminal," said Bambang.

He continued by saying that the program demonstrates that ports are not just logistics hubs but also learning ecosystems. "Input from students and campuses opens up new perspectives for companies in improving efficiency, HSSE, and operational excellence. Furthermore, the training and certification of Daily Workers is a strategic step in providing a trained local workforce that meets national standards, particularly in the liquid bulk, dry bulk, and general cargo sectors," Bambang added.

On the same occasion, the General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Pontianak, represented by the Business Compliance Manager, Mustafa, appreciated the PTP Nonpetikemas initiative in uniting the industrial world, campuses, and local communities through TJSL EduPort and Daily Worker certification. According to him, the program is a testament to how Pelindo Group carries out its role in developing superior human resources in the operational area. He also highlighted the strategic position of Kijing Terminal as one of the backbones of the western Indonesian supply chain, with great potential as a gateway for exporting palm oil derivative products considering the massive palm oil industry ecosystem of West Kalimantan.

The local government also expressed its appreciation. The Head of the Mempawah Regency Industry and Manpower Office, Johana Sari Margiani, emphasized that this program aligns with the Golden Indonesia vision, opening access to learning for students and accelerating the availability of a competent workforce ready to enter the industry. She believes the Non-Container PTP is a motivator for other companies.

Support also came from the Head of the Pontianak Class I Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP), represented by the Lala Field Staff, Heriansyah, who has created an initiative program that benefits Kijing's operations and encourages continuous improvement of HR competencies.

One of the participants in the PTP EduPort TJSL program, Muhammad Afiq, shared that they initially didn't expect to be selected and were initially lacking confidence, but were very grateful to be accepted by PTP Nonpetikemas. They explained that the first step at PTP Nonpetikemas was to finalize their prepared research paper ideas and hope that these ideas could be implemented to benefit the operations of the Kijing Terminal.

In addition to student innovation, PTP Nonpetikemas is implementing a Daily Worker Certification and Training Program. Nine daily workers participated in initial training, earning certification from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) in the areas of Liquid Bulk, Dry Bulk, and General Cargo packaging handling. This program ensures that daily workers possess the required competencies to meet standards and are ready to professionally support port services.

The implementation of CSV TJSL PTP Non-container in the education sector not only supports the development of community human resources, but also strengthens the sustainability of the company's operations.

With the end of the EduPort Program and the start of the training of Non-Container Daily Workers, PTP targets that this collaboration model can be replicated in other branches to expand social impact and provide sustainable added value for the community and the company.

Kijing Terminal currently serves primary commodities such as liquid bulk, dry bulk, and palm oil derivatives. It also serves as a buffer port, accommodating the overcapacity of Dwikora Port in Pontianak.

As of October 2025, the Pontianak Branch of PTP Non-Container has achieved production traffic of 3.21 million tons, a 46% increase compared to the same period in 2024, which reached 2.2 million tons.

With this strategic role, Kijing Terminal is a logistics solution that supports the smooth running of the national supply chain while strengthening Indonesia's competitiveness in the port sector.
